Second Life: Denim
UPCYCLING / PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT / CLO3D / HARDWARE SIMULATION
The deconstructed jeans, re-cut. Scans and pattern pieces from Denim Deconstructed become a structured denim shoulder bag.
THE PROJECT
The scans and pattern information from the deconstructed jeans became the starting point for a new product. The question was how an existing garment could get a second life as something else entirely.
The result is a structured shoulder bag: the jean legs become its body, with the original wash and wear lines kept as surface.
01 / SOURCE MATERIAL
02 / REUSE STRATEGY
Keep the details that already exist.
The design started from bags that would actually be used — functional, spacious, with more than one way to carry it — and from the denim details worth keeping: a back pocket reused as a patch pocket, the original wash across the body.
