Ghost Town

WATERCOLOR ON CANVAS / HAND EMBROIDERY / WIRE ARMATURE

A soft sculpture built around the form of a wounded hand — watercolor on canvas, cross-stitch scarring and a twisted-wire armature.

THE WORK

A soft sculpture centered on the form of a wounded hand. A twisted-wire armature frames the outline so the piece holds the gesture of a lifeless hand.

Material and surface carry the meaning: watercolor builds the tonal depth of flesh and bruising, hand-embroidered cross stitches read as scars, and transparent vinyl nails reveal the dirt beneath — a residue of lived experience.

03 / STRUCTURE / ARMATURE

Twisted wire runs through the fingers and around the outline, so the soft canvas can hold a fixed, specific gesture.
